Cultural Differences and Traditions
Asian cultures may seem very different and strange from other cultures around the world, and China's is no exception. The manner in which the Chinese perform daily tasks and the way they think about things, combined with how closed off the culture has been to foreign influences until recently, means that it can be quite a disorienting experience for a first-time traveler to China.
While some differences may be trivial, others may affect how the locals perceive you in a negative way. It is important to educate yourself before you go, as well as to be constantly observant while you are there, to pick up on the nuances of the culture.
Hopefully the articles here will give you a good start in understanding more about 'the Chinese way.'
