Zhengzhou 2006 Opening Ceremony Preview

On October 6th, Qi Jinli, assistant directors of Preparation Committee of the 2nd World Traditional Wushu Championship and Deputy of the Municipal Party Committee, and Yang Liping, assistant director of preparation committee and Minister of Propaganda Department of Municipal Party Committee, went to the Provincial Sport Center to inspect the related preparatory work, and held a conference to coordinate the details of the opening ceremony and the artistic performance, the activities in Dengfeng to welcome guests, and the real-life scenery arts performance. Concerned leaders of the Preparation Committee also attended the conference.

The conference requested that the opening ceremony arts performance must be to the appropriate scale, and cannot lose any of the artistry; The Competition Department must pay great attention to the image of the admissions process, as in the international large-scale sports championship, we must demonstrate the elegant demeanor of Henan; The Arts Department must carefully organize the interaction between audiences and actors in order to compliment the atmosphere; for the chairman's podium, it must be clear about the responsibility and pay great attention to the details; The Municipal Foreign Affairs Office must prearrange good translation personnel to translate leadership speaches simultaneously; The Publicity Department must prepare to demonstrate English captions on the large screen at the same time; Must prearrange the ticket affairs well to guarantee the sale of party admission ticket from October 9th; Must make sure inerrability the work such as transportation, security and fire prevention; must scientifically arrange the time when the audiences entering and make sure the channel which athletes and distinguished guest enter unimpeded; The Finance Department must solve the problem of insufficient equipment; The Arts Department need to guarantee the rise of the national flag and the effect of lights and sound equipments for chairman's podium; The ceremony to welcome guests in Dengfeng must do well docking with CCTV, must study the concrete details in order to both guarantee the television direct seeding effect, and the effect of watching on the spot; Dengfeng city must arrange the population in accord with the actual number of invited leaders, honored guests and athletes (about 3000 people) on the spot to rehearse, in order to calculate the length of the troop and the watching time in forward, so as to determine whether watching together or in turn; Must scientifically arrange the concrete position of parking lots to guarantee the honored guests’ watching and the effect of television direct seeding; The battery powered cars must arrive ahead of time, so that the aged distinguished guests can return to parking lots promptly after ceremony and tours; The real-life scenery arts performance must specially perform for athletes again on 15th; Must do the reception work well for the honored guests according to the existing plan.

The conference stressed that the Wushu Championship must manifest the international level; we should consider the request of the overseas athletes, and do the preparatory work as best as possible; we should strengthen communication and coordination and enhance our efficiency; should strengthen the sense of responsibility and make clear the division of responsibilities to make sure the preparation work done in great detail.
